Custom 7/8 in Bocota Wood

7/8 French Point with a slight swayback and smile, 2.5" cutting edge. Hash mark jimps to start, then standard jimping all the way to the end of the tail.
Scales are Bocota with horn wedge, silver pins with small silver washers.

This one gave me some trouble with the scales. It was like a lady in the dressing trying close.
Seemed most looked OK but nothing was great. So as a final shot I pulled out the pencil again and started drawing again. I have to say, I pleased with how it finally turned out.

A couple of Koa Wood Shaving Brushes

I was lucky enough a to have some Koa wood delivered to me. So while deciding what to do with what pieces, I decided it would be nice to have a couple shaving brush handles turned with the wood. I'm very pleased with how they both turned out.
I have 2 sons, both still young and still more than a few years until they start shaving...lol.
The two brushes will be handed down to my sons when the time comes. While I could always buy them a nice Simpson or Rooney, etc... There is just something special about having something that was made with them in mind.
Now I just have to make a couple custom razors for them. Luckily I have a little time before they will be using them.

If your interested in contacting the person that did the work for me, just email and I'll get you the info.

Custom Stub Tail

Here's one that's a little different (at least for me). The owner sent me a idea of what he was looking for. I few drawings back and forth and this is what cam out.

The blade is 3 1/4" long cutting edge, 8/8 tapering to 7/8 Spanish point with a smile.
Swayback spine with hash mark jimps on top.
For my modest grinding skills, this blade was a challenge. The long smiling blade and short tail made for a interesting time in front of the grinder.
I happy with the way she came out.
Scales are horn with ivory colored acrylic, silver pins and small ss washers.
