A few 8/8's finished up
Here are a few 8/8 customs I finished up.
All turned out pretty well I think.
High carbon, pattern welded, G10, wood, boars tusk.... a little bit of everything..lol

EDIT: the round point below earlier... I removed the blue from the tang. Seems it wanted to attract rust to the pivot. So I unpinned it and cleaned it back up. While I was at it changed out the pinning for black SS torx bolts.

3 8/8's started
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Time for family, food and relaxing...
With the relaxing over and finally getting over the funk I've had for a few weeks. It was time to start a few more razors.
3 - 8/8 Damascus razors and a couple of high carbon ones not pictured.

8/8 non-folder with red horn
Here is one I just finished up.
It made of 1095 steel. 8/8 size with about 2 1/4" cutting edge, symmetrical grind.
Instead of using a wrap for the handle or leaving it bare, red horn was requested.
I think overall it came out pretty nice!

2 Customs finished
Well, here are the 2 razors finished.
I think both turned out great.
The W&B copy has horn scales with a dark red G10 wedge with stacked pins.
The Kamisori I added just a little wrapping to "set-off" the twisted handle.

A little more work done
Did a little more work on the W&B copy and Kamisori.
Tapered the tail, cut the jimps, a little file work and 1st normalization.
I thought I would try something I've seen on a few of Charlie's razors. So since the Kamisori doesn't have a home yet, I'm free to experiment with things... Anyway I twisted the handle on Kamisori to make it a little interesting. After I twisted it I hammered it back somewhat flat.
Mostly cleaned up an ready for some heat.
Into the fire
After a cool down

A couple more started.
OK lets try this again. Maybe I'll do better!
So I started 2 more this week.
One Kamisori
It's going to be around 8/8 with a 2" cutting edge.
The other razor is based on a Wade & Butcher "Ottoman Egyptian and Royal Windsor" razor
1st pic - Cut out and initial shaping.
2nd pic - initial hollowing

8/8 Kamisori, traditional asymmetrical grind
Here is a fun one I finished up.
I thought I would practice my asymmetrical Kamisori grinding.
She is a fun little (big) razor.
Here it is next to a 7/8 Filly

So much for keeping up with progress..lol
Well, I truly did intend to try and follow the most recent razors... Just wasn't meant to be.
It started with a impromptu trip my wife and kid took to see a friend for 4 days. As luck would have it, the wife took the camera with here. So I thought "no big deal", so I'll miss a couple pics at the start..
Before I new it, I almost had them done.....lol
So a figured at least I could post some finished pics..
2 of the 3 are done. The last one is done minus the scales (working on them)
10/8 Custom, jimps top bottom
Horn scales with bone wedge and stacked washers
8/8 Spanish'ish point, jimp top and bottom
Scales are Horn with a red G10 liner, wedge is horn and G10 and silver pins with small washers.
